Mat has been a valued and dedicated member of our physiotherapy team for over 20 years.  His area of interest include rehabilitation of all sporting and backyard injuries, and helping clients with chronic pain improve their quality of life.

He draws on his experience with all forms of fitness, including various forms of yoga, Pilates, and weight training, to help clients improve posture, movement patterns and muscles imbalances.

In his spare time, Mat enjoys bike riding, yoga, shopping at the Central Markets, going to the beach, and catching up with friends and family.

Since gaining his Masters in Physiotherapy qualification at Uni SA over a decade ago Subash has been employed at LifeForce where he is dedicated to a Manual Therapies (hands-on) approach, to Physiotherapy treatments with particular interests in Dry Needling, correction of Lumbo-Pelvic Dysfunctions, Lower Limb Disorders and Muscle Energy Techniques.

Subash is an avid reader, enjoys playing tennis and loves cricket! He also loves being a dad to his young son.

Prema joined our practice in 2006 during which time she gained her Post-Graduate Masters in Physiotherapy qualification. She is passionate about Manual Therapies including Massage, Myofascial Release, Kinesio Taping, Functional rehabilitation and education and exercise prescription for spinal conditions.

Prema's Australian employment experience also includes spending a number of years in the area of work injury management, working for rehabilitation and insurance organisations. 

Prema joined us as a dedicated chocaholic but has since adopted a healthy diet and exercise philosophy!

Physiotherapist & FitForce Instructor - Daniel Jordan

As well as having a Masters in Physiotherapy from Uni SA, Daniel has demonstrated talent in a number of other areas, including acquiring a Degree in Jazz Music from Adelaide Uni (specialising in the saxophone). He also has a passion for cooking and is an avid sportsperson (indoor cricket and an occasional game of golf, as well as being a practitioner of the martial art of Jiu Jitsu). Daniel also enjoys being a dad!

Daniel has experience in treating Benign Positional Vertigo employing a gentle head movement technique to reduce the symptoms of this condition. He is also passionate about Functional Movement which forms the basis of his FitForce classes. These classes are suitable for everyone as they assist the body’s innate ability to create movement, engaging the nervous system to adapt to change, and restoring movement with improved strength symmetry and success.

Physiotherapist - Purvi Goswami

Purvi graduated over 10 years ago and has since worked in a variety of settings in India and in Australia. She completed her internship after successfully gaining a Masters in Kinesiology (Exercise Science and Rehabilitation) in the United States, and has also held positions as clinical educator and lecturer in Physiotherapy and the rehabilitation management of musculoskeletal, paediatric and neurological conditions within private practice settings.

Her key areas of interest are hands-on particularly manipulation & mobilisation of peripheral and spinal joints, soft tissue massage, sustained myofascial release techniques (for more chronic conditions) and rehabilitation to rectify muscle imbalances. She finds posture and gait analysis form an important component of this physiotherapy management process as they frequently contribute to improved quality of life.

Being the daughter of a physiotherapist, the teen-aged Purvi developed a strong passion for this area of health practice.

Her favourite leisure time activities include painting, art and cooking.

Physiotherapist - Lysa Poon

Lysa completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at UniSA in 2020. During her degree, she gained experience treating a variety of conditions through placements in different clinical settings. She has a strong interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and is passionate about working together with clients to help them reach their long-term health goals.

Having grown up in Malaysia, Lysa is able to speak fluently in multiple languages, including English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay. She also enjoys working with people from all walks of life and pursues to be an active listening therapist to address her clients’ needs.
In her spare time, Lysa enjoys cooking and doing yoga.

Acupuncturist - Justin Porter

Justin is a registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Medical practitioner, having almost 20 years experience in Brisbane prior to moving to Adelaide after starting his young family. 

Justin is passionate about assisting clients on their journey to better health. He considers his extensive experience across a broad range of acute and chronic conditions to be a good fit for LifeForce clients who present with the symptoms of Headache and Migraine, Immune and Neurological disorders; management of Fertility issues and IVF Support, to name but a few.
While much of Justin’s experience and qualifications - Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture), Australia and China, and Diploma in Remedial Massage - has focused on Chinese forms of practise he has also developed a keen interest in the pursuit of Japanese Acupuncture which regularly takes him to Japan to further pursue this area of study, as he finds this modality offers a gentle and effective treatment option.

Gemma undertook her training at Endeavour College here in Adelaide. She is an AHPRA-registered practitioner and member of the Australian Natural Therapists Association.

Gemma is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of clients and enhancing their quality of life via her holistic assessment and treatment methods. As an acupuncturist she may also incorporate other related methods such as cupping, moxibustion, Tuina (a form of Chinese massage therapy) and Gua Sha.

Maria originally qualified as a Remedial Therapist in Switzerland where the government is very supportive of and proactive in the area of preventative health. She has worked as a Remedial Therapist since 1992, the last 12 years of which have been as a LifeForce team member.  Maria is experienced in a number of massage modalities and uses either a specific massage technique or combination of modalities to suit the individual needs of clients to assist them in maximising their health and wellbeing.

Maria's areas of professional interest include Remedial Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, Trigger Point, Deep Tissue, Sports, Therapeutic, Relaxation and Pregnancy massage as well as Foot Reflexology.

Privately, she is very family orientated, enjoys cooking and entertaining, and spends her free time in Bible studies as well as teaching the Bible to others.

Rose has many years of experience as a Remedial Massage Therapist addressing the day to day issues and afflictions of people from all walks of life in a demanding, often stressful, world. She originally gained qualifications in her chosen field of massage through TAFE, and is passionate of continuing professional education to further her skills. She has expertise in the areas of Remedial, Trigger Point, Deep Tissue and Relaxation Massage, along with Lymphatic Drainage, Myofascial Release, Aromatherapy and Pregnancy Massage and is therefore able to cater for all ages and a variety of disorders.

Under the title of Holistic Healing, Pauline practices a number of therapies including Bowen Therapy and Stress Release Therapy.

Pauline is also a qualified Educational and Neurolinguistic Kinesiologist and has worked for many years with children who suffer from problems with learning, ADHD and autism.  

Having achieved excellent clinical results with Bowen (a gentle, non-invasive manual therapy), Pauline has recently also introduced a new therapy, Stress Release Therapy, for which she is receiving a lot of positive client feedback from those who have experienced efficient results. Stress Release Therapy can be a quick and way of dealing with emotional disorders such as fears and unwanted habits and behaviours.

Dearne was drawn to particular modalities in the area of remedial massage because of personal/family experiences, so practising in these particular fields (chronic disease & disability massage, lymphatic drainage) has been particularly rewarding. Her youngest is on the autism spectrum which has led to a particular interest in the area of disability massage.

Dearne enjoys managing her clients’ pain and stress using a combination of Trigger Point Therapy, Swedish Massage, Relaxation Massage and Myofascial Release and personalises her approach for each individual.

In the area of Sports Massage she has witnessed its ability to enhance physical performance. She currently works with the North Adelaide Rockets Men’s Premier League Basketball Team, providing massages during training and games.

Massage Therapist - Ryan Harrison

Among other degrees and qualifications Ryan has a 2005 Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics and a published work in Ocean Environment Modelling. However, a major career change saw Ryan becoming qualified as a Remedial Massage Therapist. This was prompted by his personal interest in exercise and engaging with individuals living with chronic illnesses.

While having studied Swedish, Relaxation, Trigger Point, Deep Tissue Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Myofascial Release, Ryan has developed a particular interest in helping athletes and recreational sports people enhance their performance and recover from injuries more quickly. He also has a passion for assisting those with chronic illness to improve their quality of life, adapting his approach according to the needs of each individual.

Melisa's journey into natural health began when she experienced improvements to her own health over 20 years ago after seeing a naturopath and physiotherapist at LifeForce health solutions (then The Village Physio). This was life-changing for her as it later inspired her to undertake formal education at the Endeavour College, studying western herbal medicine and naturopathy.

Melisa’s areas of interest embrace a broad range of men's and women's health (including fertility) issues, gastro-intestinal disturbances, childhood behavioural disorders, weight loss and auto-immune conditions such as Rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis and the auto-immune thyroid condition Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis.  Melisa is also the practice's Metabolic Balance coach.

Karen lives in the North East Suburbs of Adelaide with her Partner and their 4 children. She has been practicing Yoga for over 20 years and been teaching since 2005 after completing a two year Advance Yoga teaching Diploma (through Integral Yoga Academy of Australasia). Since then Karen has furthered her interest and studies in Hatha Yoga for over-all physical and Mental well being. She has a focus on Yoga aid with chronic Health conditions, Mental Health well being, and Pre and Post Natal Yoga. A special interest in Prenatal Yoga commenced in 2004/ 2005 when she completed her Yoga teaching Diploma and modified it for Pregnancy. Karen has previously worked alongside former LifeForce health solutions Yoga Teacher Karen Bellchambers and been the relief teacher here for over 10 years. She also attended classes with all four of her own pregnancies.

Deb McEwen has been teaching yoga for almost 20 years and is a longstanding member of (YTISA ). After a brief stint away in WA Deb returned to LifeForce to resume her very popular yoga classes.

Deb’s yoga classes run for 80 minutes and incorporate postures, relaxation and meditation. Deb has a keen interest in therapeutic meditation and enjoys hearing participants speak of the benefits of these classes. Meditation classes aim to help participants connect to their inner stillness in order to find peace in an often chaotic world while improving resistance to stress.

Pilates and Balance & Strength Instructor  - Debra Faulkner

Debra has been employed in the musculoskeletal industry for over 20 years. She studied Pilates with Tensegrity Training and has attained her Certificate IV in Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology. She also holds an internationally recognised Certificate from The Pink Ribbon Program qualifying as a Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist, an area of study she undertook because of her keen interest in providing safe exercise options for those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and because she is a breast cancer survivor herself. Debra also has a particular fondness for helping the elderly which is why she is passionate about conducting Strength & Balance Exercise Classes to assist them in minimising the risk of falls.

Goldy started her Pilates journey as a client doing a 30-day challenge.  Joseph Pilates said, “In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 you’ll see the difference, and in 30 you’ll have a new body”. True to form she did notice a more improved, functional, and balanced body. This so inspired her that she decided to complete the instructor’s course with the aim of helping others benefit from Joseph Pilates’ teachings. Goldy’s passion for instructing comes from a place of love and wanting you to have the best body you can possibly have; a better range of movement, developing strength and balance, improving flexibility, and just having a great time in her classes.
