PRACTICE UPDATES IN RESPONSE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC
As physiotherapy and acupuncture are considered essential treatments for pain and injury management our regulating body and professional associations had not issued any directives limiting service provision in these areas.
We are pleased to advise that LifeForce is currently providing the following health care services: Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy, Acupuncture and Naturopathy. In addition, Telehealth consultations will now be available for Physiotherapy treatments only. The major health funds are on board, providing rebates for members with extras cover.
Along the COVID journey the practice made adjustments to its service delivery in response to changes and influences that were beyond its control, so it has given us great pleasure to begin reporting more positively in recent times (see below):
28/07/21 : HOURS OF OPERATION RETURN TO NORMAL: Monday to Friday 8.20am to 8pm and Saturdays closing one hour earlier, ie 8.20am to 3pm
20/07/21 : Only Telehealth Physiotherapy appointments available from tomorrow 21/7/21 until further notice, with reduced opening hours
6/07/20 : HOURS OF OPERATION RETURN TO NORMAL: Monday to Friday 8.20am to 8pm and Saturdays closing one hour earlier, ie 8.20am to 3pm
1/06/20 : Extended hours of operation as follows : Monday to Friday is 10 am to 7 pm and Saturday 8.20am to 2pm, with further extension to hours planned as appointment lists rebuild - SEE ABOVE FOR CURRENT HOURS
08/05/20 : Massage Therapy services resume following easing of restrictions - 15 minute sanitisation breaks between each treatment
30/03/20 : Accepting credit card payment only as we are unable to bank our cash takings
23/03/20 : Exercise classes suspended following Federal Government announcement
We look forward to again seeing the friendly faces of our loyal exercise class clients when this service returns and will notify you as soon as classes resume.
COVID-19 : of course is on everyone's mind - such an extraordinary event, unparalleled in our lifetimes
The Government has implemented a number of strategies in an attempt to contain the virus.
Understandably everyone is concerned and anxious as there are many uncertainties but we can all do our bit to STOP THE SPREAD by following stringent hygiene and infection control protocols.
The current situation at LifeForce
For now, our practice remains open with usual scheduling of physio, acupuncture and naturopathy appointments in order to meet your health needs.
Our practice looks a little different now as we have implemented necessary procedures and protocols to ensure the safety of you, our clients, as well as our team.
These measures include:
- Introduction of 15 minute sanitisation sessions scheduled between each massage treatment
- Hand sanitiser is to be used by all clients on entering the practice
- Employing thorough hand washing procedures between each client
- Disinfecting all surfaces that have been utilised within each consultation between each client consult (including doors and door handles, chairs, treatment beds and any pens & clipboards that have been used)
- Disinfecting tools required for processing your payments after each transaction
- Removing some of our waiting room furniture to better comply with social-distancing and sanitising requirements
WE ASK THAT YOU DO NOT ATTEND THE PRACTICE
If you feel unwell with a fever, cough or sore throat OR you have a potential risk for Coronavirus following contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case. (You can call the National Coronavirus Help Line on 1800 020 080.)
Instead, please notify our reception team by calling 8289 2800 to reschedule your appointment. The practice is currently investigating alternative consultation formats such as Telehealth which will take a bit more time to implement. The duration of these consults and how they would be billed is to be determined soon and we are working on that right now because we believe it's really important that you maintain your good health at this time of significant stress and keep your health management on track.
At a time such as this it is necessary for us to work together as a community, to support each other and to make the best of this challenging situation .....
We leave you with this beautiful poem by Kitty O'Meara that has enjoyed an abundance of internet views :
“And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently. And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal. And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed."
